| I wrote this for a small minority of people like myself who:
*Are Obsessive Compulsive about their settings *Enjoy listening to music through headphones when they can't through their speakers *Might like to sleep to music from their computer My situation (and its intended purpose) is this: I like to listen to my music on the computer with high quality speakers. At night that option is not available because of noise limitations in my house. I have a pair of Koss headphones that aren't quite the greatest, but do the job when I'm working and not focusing on the sound too much. I also sometimes like to sleep to music wearing these headphones. I am completely obsessive about every option on every menu on my computer. Create a playlist with the songs you want to fall asleep to in it (my playlist is called "Temp" because it changes frequently). This program changes the EQ for headphone use, plays that playlist, changes your display sleep time to one minute (so the screen goes black and there is no light coming from it that would bother you while you are lying there trying to fall asleep) and then one minute and ten seconds after that (ten seconds after the display sleeps) it sets your display sleep time back to whatever you want it to (default 15 minutes). The program then waits for your playlist to finish playing, resets your EQ back to whatever you want it to (defualt is preset "flat") and then quits iTunes, sleeps your computer, or shuts down your computer (depending on which one you run). I suggest that you customize it to fit your needs as the program was written to do very specifiic things with specific items. I think you will need to change actions 3, 4, 6, and 8. YOU HAVE TO CHANGE ACTION 6. This is my very first automator action, so if it doesn't work then sorry. At least you can learn from it to make your own. You will find the greatest joy you will ever experience in Jesus Christ. |
